The 93.75% rate falls below the typical 95% organizational target.
The Attendance Calculation Formulas
The calculator uses two complementary metrics — hours-based and day-based:
Attendance Rate = (Hours Actually Worked / Scheduled Hours) x 100
Absence Rate = (Days Absent / Total Scheduled Work Days) x 100
Projected Annual Absences = (Days Absent / Total Work Days) x 260
Hour Variance = Hours Worked - Scheduled Hours
The 260-day annual projection assumes a standard 5-day, 52-week work year.

When to Be Concerned About Attendance
A single week's data can be misleading — 1 absence in 5 days creates a 20% absence rate that projects to 52 days/year.
Over a full month (22 days), the same employee with 2 absences drops to a 9.1% absence rate (23.6 projected days).
Track over at least a month before drawing conclusions.
Consistent rates below 95% attendance or above 5% absence over 3+ months indicate a pattern worth addressing.
